All participants will need to:

  • Complete or renew a basic membership (admin fee: $15) at and sign their waiver. You must select Harlem River Community Rowing as your organization and use Club Code JBARZ if prompted.

  • Complete the mandatory SafeSport training (Adult Athlete Training) provided by USRowing. Access the SafeSport course portal through your USRowing account (see menubar to the left).

  • Watch the USRowing Safety Video.

  • When available: Read the HRCR handbook (the 2022 version will be posted soon)

  • When available: Complete a sign-up form for 2022 (the 2022 form will be posted soon)

  • When available: Complete and (e-)sign a copy of HRCR 2022 Rowing Program Participant(s) Waiver and email it to (the 2022 version will be posted soon)

  • By participating, the participant acknowledges to have read and understood the Safety Regulations and Procedures and the Emergency Action Plan (See Appendices A and B in the Handbook.)

  • By participating, the participant attests to being able to swim continuously for 50 yards (any stroke), to tread water continuously for 5 minutes, and to put on a personal flotation device (such as a life vest) while treading water.

  • By participating, the participant agrees to inform HRCR ( and the Head Coach of any medical conditions that may affect their ability to safely participate in our programming by email.

  • Participants under age 18 must have all membership and waiver forms signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Please note: depending on the public health situation, the HRCR Board can decide to update requirements and policies regarding COVID19 throughout the season.
