Get started with HRCR!
New to HRCR? Complete the requirements below to get started!
Please note: those registering for Learn To Row only need to complete the first two items on the list below in advance of their placement into the program. Experienced rowers need to meet all requirements.
Complete a copy of the HRCR 2025 Rowing Program Participant(s) Waiver and Release electronically or by hand and upload both pages to the registration form in step two.
Complete the registration form for HRCR’s 2025 programs.
Complete or renew a basic membership for USRowing (administrative fee: $20/$25) at USRowing.org.
Select Harlem River Community Rowing as your organization (Club Code: JBARZ).
Sign the USRowing waiver on your member homepage.
Complete the SafeSport Self-Attestation and, if required, any training on your USRowing profile page. Note that you will not be practicing consistently with minors at the moment (information needed for your SafeSport attestation).
Watch the 2025 Beginning of Season Team Meeting video recording. This meeting is required viewing before your first session with HRCR. The video will be sent to you once you complete steps 1-3 above.
Familiarize yourself with the HRCR Safesport Policy, watch the USRowing Safety Video, and read the HRCR Handbook.
Please note: by participating in HRCR programming, participants acknowledge/attest that:
They have read and understood the HRCR Handbook 2025, including the Safety Regulations and Procedures and the Emergency Action Plan (See Appendices A and B of the Handbook), and they have attended or watched the 2025 Beginning of Season Team Meeting.
They are able to swim continuously for 50 yards (any stroke), to tread water continuously for 5 minutes, and to put on a personal flotation device (such as a life vest) while treading water.
They will inform both HRCR (info@harlemrivercr.org) and the coaching staff of any medical conditions that may affect their ability to safely participate in our programming.
